Welcome to Schulz's Paint & Quarter Horses

Schulz Paints and Quarter horses, located just out of Ipswich, have only been in the business since 2001 but seem to have the right stuff when
it comes to producing champions.
They say their small 40 acre horse farm is ‘just a hobby’
with the couple’s four children all mucking in and helping with
all that is involved in breeding and owning horses. "Bevin always
had a fascination with black and white Paint Horses, so we began to investigate
the different breeds," said Merilyn of Schulz Paint and Quarter Horses.
"We liked the colour variation of Paint Horses and the temperament
and stature of Quarter Horses – and so began our journey!"
As if owning and running a successful stud wasn’t enough, the Schulz
family also operate a wholesale meat company in Ipswich. They attribute
much of their success to the excellent advice and help they have been
fortunate enough to receive from succesful trainer, Samantha Daley. Sam
helped them to choose the right mares in the beginning and the Schulzs
quickly achieved champion status with them. "We have been able to
achieve champion status with our two ‘special ladies’ very
early in our ‘horse years’ thanks to Sam’s advice,"
said Merilyn.
These special ladies are the stud’s two broodmares, Gotta Be A Chance
and Count Again (dec). Gotta Be a Chance is by Holster Special Chance and has
won numerous events under saddle including 2004 PHAA Nationals High Point
2 Year Old, National Champion Hunter Under Saddle, Open Futurity championships
for both Hunter Under Saddle and Western Pleasure and multiple National
Futurity Reserve Champion Western Pleasure. Her 2005 black and white daughter
is currently up for sale and looks likely to follow in her mother’s
hoofbeats.
The stud’s other broodmare, Count Again (dec), has many progeny that are
busy proving themselves in the show arena. The stud’s all-time favourite
horse, Wadayarekon Shes Magic, is one of Count Again’s daughters.
She holds the honorary title of being the stud’s ‘high achiever’
with numerous championships to her credit including being judged the National
AQHA Grand Champion Mare (as a three-year-old). Sired by Ima Cool Seeker*,
Wadayarekon Shes Magic also won State Grand Champion Mare/Filly as a weanling,
and has a lengthy list of championship titles to her credit. Some of these
impressive results are: Q6 Open and Amateur Grand Champion Mare, Q5 Reserve
Grand Mare; three times Queensland State Grand Mare; two times Queensland
State Grand Champion Amateur Mare; multiple futurity champion and three
times National Champion.
The broodmare, Count Again, sadly passed away in 2007. The mare’s 2005 gelding by Exceptionist* has already
won multiple State and National Championship titles.
Schulz's Paints and Quarter Horses have 2008 progeny for sale & have rising two-year olds for sale that hold the promise of future
championship titles for their breeder and glory for the lucky new owners.
